Travel Agency in Johannesburg area. Desk Operating Hours: Monday – Friday, 08h00 – 17h00 Saturdays & Public holidays, 08h00 – 12h00 Consultant will be required to work shifts.
Provide information on (but not limited to) travel, facilities and services, events and attractions, tours, travel routes and transportation schedules. Arrange tickets, bookings, appointments and reservations for customers. Organize extra’s for VIP client or special occasions. Creative flair and ability to tailor make “high touch” luxury travel packages. Source travel products and information for upmarket clients.
Assist with after hour duty, including nights and weekends. Deal with complaints and refunds and work alongside the Manager to resolve them. Come up with new initiatives and creative ideas for clients. Arranging all travel related queries and advising clients on travel arrangements, e.g. visas and passports. Keeping clients up to date with any changes. Counsel clients on terms and conditions of travel, e.g. cancellation policies, insurance, advice. Process payments and discount allocation/s. Promote destinations, tour packages, concierge and other services. Provide travel tips on currency, language, safety, health, etc. Maximize on sales opportunities. Deliver excellent customer service.
Matric. National Diploma in Travel or similar.
Fully Bilingual – Afrikaans first language (Read, Write and Speak) and English (Read, Write and Speak) a must. 10 years’ experience within the Travel industry. 10 years GDS experience (preferably Galileo). Previous travel concierge (or similar), leisure and corporate experience, focusing on VIP clients an advantage. A passion for travel and delivering service excellence. Ability to multi-task within a high-pressured environment. Creative problem solver and good organizational skills. Strong sense of urgency. Impeccable attention to detail. Creating the WOW experience for our clients with each interaction. Proven recent international travel. Resilience and composure to remain positive under pressure or in changing circumstances. Sales experience and the consultative skills to confidently recommend and cross-sell relevant products and services. Strong time management. Leisure travel background. Understanding of working in a Loyalty travel environment dealing with VIP/high net worth individuals and their demands. Problem solving skills excellent communication skills including grammar and strong written and verbal communication skills when communicating to High Profile Clients. Excellent customer service skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure.
