You will be responsible for the following:
a) Group HR Strategy – Human Resources Management
Implement agreed strategic pillars .
Interpret Plant Strategy and implement collaboratively with Plant Management.
b) Company Policy
Provide input to Group HR Executive on Company Policy initiation and implementation.
Implement approved policies.
c) Communication and Change Leadership
Collaborate with local management and implement initiatives to drive constant flow of
information to the workforce.
Implement the approved communication strategy of the Group and customize for the company
Ensure that all employees are constantly updated on pertinent developments in the business
or the group in line with guidelines from Group HR Executive.
Lead change processes in the Plant from a people perspective.
d) Appointments and On-Boarding
React swiftly to incidental vacancies and new positions to source quality, resourceful and
competent candidates within a lead time of 61 days.
Ensure that new employees are successfully on-boarded to the organization and that stay
interviews yield an acceptable success rate.
e) Performance Management
Implement the approved performance management system at Plant Level and Forestry.
Collaborate with local plant management to ensure that all people in scope have performance
agreements that embody the “SMART” principles.

Implement PIP Process in collaboration with Local Management
Conduct annual calibration processes as a build up to the Group Calibration Process
f) Organizational Capability Development (Training)
Collaborate with Group Training Manager to conduct training needs analysis in the plant,
forestry and draft a training plan.
Align the training plan to pertinent plant \ forestry needs medium and long term.
Coordinate and schedule plant \ forestry training initiatives and evaluate success.
Compile the annual training report and obtain sign-off for the SETA.
Compile the annual equity plan and reports for timeous submission to the EEC.
g) Employee Relations
Meet with and negotiate labour matters with employee representatives.
Coordinate and control the application of specific procedures associated with maintaining
sound employee relations.
Guide disciplinary and grievance processes to maintain sound workplace discipline.
Represent the company at CCMA and Bargaining Councils.
Collaborate with plant management and implement initiatives to turn around the culture in
order to optimise the performance of the facility.
h) Human Resources Administration
Prepare plant budget of HR Activities and Programmes.
Maintain records of all HR Activities as well as personal staff records.
Ensure that all employees are paid accurately on the contracted dates of the month.
Respond to enquiries related to payroll and provide guidance.
Ensure that leave is accurately and timeously captured and that accrued
leave is managed monthly including leave in lieu of overtime.
i) Leadership of the people
Ensuring that subordinates have performance agreements and are held accountable.
Ensuring that performance management measures are implemented and that a culture of
accountability and high performance is driven and achieved.
