Job Description

As the Wetworks Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing all wetwork trades on site, ensuring that works are completed on time, within budget, and to the standards and specifications of the Company.

Duties:

Pre-Construction:

  • Familiarize yourself with the project schedule and program.
  • Confirm the availability of long lead time materials.
  • Verify the appointment of subcontractors for wet work trades.
  • Review drawings and issue lists for accuracy and completeness.
  • Confirm any variations orders (V.O.’s) required for the project.
  • Coordinate the sequence of units for construction.

Construction:

  • Coordinate construction schedules and periods with subcontractors.
  • Confirm starting dates for each phase of construction.
  • Ensure that materials are ordered and available on site as per schedule.
  • Arrange for a surveyor to set out the site accurately.
  • Verify the accuracy of surveyor’s pegs for alignment and levels.
  • Coordinate with the brick contractor to ensure alignment with peg positions.
  • Complete all necessary checklists on Snag for quality assurance.
  • Arrange for engineer inspections at key stages of construction.
  • Confirm the height of the surface bed with the Site Agent before proceeding.
  • Monitor the utilization of plant machinery and equipment.
  • Manage quality control and ensure the proper execution of wet works.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Site Agent.
  • Review and approve checklists submitted by Bricklayers, Plasterers, and Roofing Contractors.
  • Ensure exterior garden levels are in accordance with specifications.
  • Review and approve screen walls for accuracy and quality.
  • Provide daily feedback to the Site Agent regarding project status.
  • Provide weekly progress updates to project stakeholders.

Health and Safety

  • Implement safe working procedures on site.
  • Ensure that all subcontractors wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Confirm that safety talks are conducted regularly and are up to date with current safety protocols.
