Job Description

The Lodge/Hotel Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the property, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, maintaining the highest standards of service, and managing all aspects of staff and facility operations. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for hospitality.

Guest Experience

  1. Ensure guests receive outstanding service and an unforgettable stay.
  2. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  3. Oversee reservations, check-ins, and check-outs to ensure smooth operations.

Operations Management

  1. Oversee all departments, including housekeeping, front office, food and beverage, and maintenance.
  2. Monitor property cleanliness, functionality, and overall appearance.
  3. Implement and maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards.

Financial Management

  1. Develop and manage budgets to ensure profitability.
  2. Monitor revenue, expenses, and performance metrics.
  3. Prepare financial reports and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Staff Management

  1. Recruit, train, and manage a team of employees.
  2. Schedule and supervise staff to ensure efficient operations.
  3. Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Marketing and Business Development

  1. Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract and retain guests.
  2. Build partnerships with travel agents, tour operators, and local businesses.
  3. Promote the property through digital and traditional marketing channels.

 

Qualifications

Relevant Hospitality qualification preferred

Skills
  1. Proven experience as a Lodge or Hotel Manager or in a similar role.
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  3. Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  4. Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and analyze performance.
  5. Knowledge of hospitality software and booking systems is an advantage.
  6. Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  7. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
Salary/Package
R30000-R35000
Benefits

Accommodation – 2/3 bedroom house.  The property can accommodate children but not pets.
