Job Description

Our client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Attorney with 2 to 3 years of post-admission experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a broad range of litigation matters and a solid understanding of court procedures.

Key Areas of Experience Required:

General Civil and Commercial Litigation in both the Magistrates’ Court and High Court, including drafting of pleadings, appearances, and trial preparation.
Municipal Litigation: A sound understanding of legal processes applicable to municipal debt recovery, including but not limited to Section 129 notices, issuance of summons, applications for default judgment, and execution procedures (e.g., warrants of execution).

Qualifications

LLB Degree
Admitted Attorney – 2 – 3 years experience post-admission

Skills

The successful candidate must be:

Admitted junior legal practitioner with 2-3 years post-admission.
Computer literate and must be able to work well under pressure;
Knowledgeable and experienced in the Municipal Debt Legal Recoveries work.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the National Credit Act;
Appreciation of the milestones and service level agreement requirements.
Hard working, reliable and able to work independently.
