Job Description

Our client is looking for a Head Chef to join their dynamic and creative food agency based in Cape Town. The client’s team is small, energetic and passionate about pushing culinary boundaries and they looking for someone who shares that spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate catering: From intimate, bespoke setups to large-scale events of up to 1,000 guests (no private catering).
Marketing activations: That include wine pairings and experiential food events.
New product development: Working with brands to conceptualize and test innovative offerings.
Recipe testing and menu development for various platforms.
Food styling for shoots and campaigns.
Restaurant consulting projects, offering your expertise to help shape dining experiences.

Qualifications

A formal culinary qualification from a top-rated culinary institution is non-negotiable. Examples of acceptable schools include:

ICA Chef School (Stellenbosch)
International Hotel School with École Ducasse certification
Silwood School of Cookery

We are looking for candidates with a strong foundation in classical training and modern culinary techniques.

Skills

3 – 5 years in role or similar
Advanced cooking techniques across multiple cuisines
High-volume food production (up to 1,000 pax)
Recipe development and testing
Menu creation with a strong focus on creativity and originality
Wine and food pairing knowledge
Food styling for events, shoots and campaigns

Salary/Package

R30 000
