Job Description

Our client, a reputable law firm offering services in property litigation among other areas of law, is looking for a seasoned Bookkeeper with experience in a law firm.

Requirements:

  • Competence in handling all legal bookkeeping responsibilities
  • Compatibility to manage month-end, year-end and 13th-month journals
  • Proficiency in reconciling bank statements
  • Skilled in managing debtors, tax invoices and monthly trust reconciliations
  • Experience in managing sheriff and other correspondent accounts, including Advocates
  • Ability to handle payroll, VAT and PAYE reconciliations
  • Proficient in processing EFTs and cheque payments to clients and creditors
  • Experience in posting invoices
  • Ability to handle fees and disbursements
  • Skill in managing creditors’ reconciliations
  • Ability to prepare monthly statutory reports
Qualifications

Finance/ Accounting related qualification.

Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Bookkeeping position within a law firm environment
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Familiarity with Legal Suite
  • Experience in a law environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Salary/Package
R22,000 – R25,000 CTC per month, commensurate with experience in a law firm
