Job Description
Your responsibilities will be the following:
Developing accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and other expenses, based on design specifications.
Monitoring project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying and addressing potential overruns, and ensuring the project stays within budget.
Preparing tender documents, managing the tendering process, and evaluating bids from contractors.
Managing contracts, including negotiating terms, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with contract conditions.
Identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve value for money without compromising quality.
Analysing potential risks associated with the project, such as cost fluctuations, material shortages, or delays, and developing strategies to mitigate them.
Evaluating the financial impact of variations or changes to the original design and ensuring they are properly managed and accounted for.
Handling contractual claims and disputes, providing expert advice, and facilitating negotiations.
Acting as a mediator or arbitrator in construction disputes, helping to resolve conflicts efficiently and fairly.
Preparing regular cost reports and providing updates to clients and stakeholders on project progress and financial performance
Conducting feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects from a financial perspective.
Utilizing BIM software to create 3D models and manage project data for cost estimation and other purposes
Incorporating sustainable practices and materials into projects, considering environmental impact and long-term cost savings.Â
Qualifications
Matric
BSc in Quantity Surveying
 SACQSP Registered
Skills
Approximately 10 years exp with 5 years post-registration
Experience in Win QS
Experience in DimX
Salary/Package
R60,000 – R70,000 CTC PM
