Job Description

Consult with clients in order to compile quotes and issue domestic, regional and/or international leisure travel bookings, whilst delivering out of the ordinary client service. Upsell clients on hotels, car hire and travel insurance as needed. This role requires a deep knowledge of the travel industry and destinations across the globe as well as a passion for travel combined with a commitment to upholding a clear duty of care and a desire to create memorable experiences for clients.

Qualifications

Travel Diploma advantageous

Skills

Minimum 10 years travel industry experience in a leisure travel environment.
Amadeus GDS Proficiency – at least 5 years’ experience and currently using Amadeus.
Ability to thoroughly qualify an enquiry and build rapport with clients
Ability to research and recommend products and destinations, accommodations and excursions that meets the clients specifications
Strong destination, product and industry knowledge
Ability to book and service NDC bookings through Amadeus NDCx and other providers eg Verteil / Thomalex and others
Aptitude for internal IT and CRM systems (training will be provided on internal systems)
Strong knowledge of International / multi-city fares
Proactive approach to travel (e.g., flight schedule changes / airline grounding, weather / meticulous daily queue management)
Ability to work afterhours emergency shifts (for a 7-day shift) every 4 to 6 weeks on a rotational basis – additional payment applicable
Ability to achieve the individual targets as set out in the Leisure Consultant KPI and performance target
Ability to consult on latest visa requirements
Anticipating client’s challenges and proactively solving
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ownership, Accountability & Responsibility

Salary/Package

R420 000 – R500 000 ctc per annum – depending on experience
