Our client is looking for an experienced Email Technician who will be responsible for the execution of email campaigns, with a clear focus on email performance and delivering high-impact campaigns to drive leads and engagement. You will develop and implement various email campaigns for a range of products and services, to ensure maximum uptake of offerings.
The Email Technician is a seasoned email producer, responsible for the successful development of dynamic email templates, HTML, and deployment of email marketing campaigns and communication programs. The candidate should also be able to develop landing pages to accommodate emailers. This role is technically driven, working in close partnership with the Group Manager for Direct Marketing & Communications and Database Marketing Specialist, as well as the copywriters and designers to develop and implement email communications across platforms. The role includes coding and building, test and troubleshoot, scheduling emails, understanding audience segmentation, journey automation, list management, QC, optimization and performance monitoring.
Email Developer/Technician will be measured on email performance based on standard email measurements. Work closely with the Database Marketing Specialist to analyse performance of creative, and development of ideas to optimize email design, which includes A/B tests and other experiments, to generate best possible results and ROI.
Develop landing page strategies, and implement these strategies to drive stronger call to action conversions from emailer campaigns.
Ensuring campaigns are strong and effective and follow best practices in coding.
Stay up to date with industry trends, tools and design technology to propose and execute innovative, creative digital ideas, and make recommendations for best email service providers, campaign management and segmentation tools, ensuring best possible technical solution for the business, and the most cost effective.
Perform day-to-day email production activities including, but not limited to, email campaign development, testing, tagging, scheduling, deployment and monitoring of one-time, recurring, triggered and dynamic email campaigns.
Develop HTML emails using HTML, CSS, and media queries.
Constructs hypotheses to issues, seeks solutions and applies email industry best practices to improve overall email performance.
Manage list segmentation, list QA and list cleansing, working closely with the Database Marketing Specialist.
Handle change requests and provide quick and efficient solutions.
Oversee proofing process across stakeholders.
Responsible for meeting the deadlines of the various projects assigned and for maintaining clear communication with the team.
Be able to report on email performance and deliver key insights and recommendations to improve performance.
3+ years of email development. Proficient in HTML & CSS. Knowledge of multiple aspects of email marketing including dynamic program implementation, template coding, analysis, legislation, authentication and sender reputation systems, deliverability, and general industry trends and metrics. Extensive knowledge of scripting and applying business logic in email. Experienced in responsive email design. Expertise in email development industry best practices and benchmarks. Ability to quickly identify and address process and operational gaps. Strong QA process experience is essential. Strong experience with A/B testing and email optimization. Understanding and experience in data modelling and database marketing. Database management experience (pulling data, cross referencing, importing, and maintaining subscriber attributes). Must be able to work in fast paced, high performance environment with tight deadlines. Requires ability to think critically and independently, while at the same time the ability to know when to ask for help; requires holistic business acumen. Ability to self-manage project based upon defined timelines and variable outcomes required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
