A well-established owner run and managed Resort located in Uganda.
An upmarket Resort Hotel, Spa and Gymnasium located in Uganda seeks a highly skilled and Experienced General Manager who is able to manage a health club and wellness facility, which in this case includes the following resort orientated facilities:
1. Swimming (olympic sized swimming pool and Children’s pool with Food and Beverage service)
2. Gymnasium (Weights, Cardio Machines, Group Classes, Instructors)
3. Steam and Sauna facilities
4. Spa (Treatments)
The ideal candidate should have experience in all of the above mentioned operations or at least previous working knowledge of these particular operations, although suitable candidates would be considered who may not necessarily have all of the above operational experience.
Key requirements are spa, salon and health club operational background, experience and management capabilities.
This position would report in to the General Manager and Director. This person will manage 5 Gym Instructors, 14 Food and Beverage Staff (Around the pool / Food and Beverage service area), 4 Cleaners and 6 Life Guards. This function was previously outsourced but the operation is now in-sourcing this position. It is a 2 year renewable contract.
The gym have annual and half-annual Resident’s Memberships where they have access to the Gym facilities, pool and Steam and Sauna Facilities. There are also daily and Monthly memberships for Resort Guests. Full food and beverage service is offered around the Pool/recreational facilities which you will also be required to manage. This person will be responsible for increasing and attracting Membership revenues. Good Social Media skills and abilities required. Grow Health and Gym membership and market spa/packages/treatments to Residents, membership holders and public.
Good Cost and Revenue analysis is required. Ability to manage costs and controls. Exceptional Guest Relations/Customer Care. Able to meet and exceed targets.
Relevant Formal Qualifications. Valid Passport. Clear Criminal Record.
Versatile all rounder with proven track record and ability in managing Resort Facilities such as is named in the job description. Great Cost and Revenue Management skills. Exceptional Customer Care/Guest Relations ability. Good Social Media and Marketing abilities. Good staff Management abilities. The ideal person would also come from an F&B Operations background.
