An upmarket Luxury Lodge, Activity Centre and Restaurant and Bar opening along the Garden Route in the Western Cape.
This position will report into the Group Executive Chef of this reputable Hospitality Group/Property Management Company.
The role will be based along the Garden Route at a beautiful new luxury lodge and Activity Centre (Hosting Biking, Hiking and Paragliding day visitors) as well as in-house guests in the luxury Lodge and Restaurant. There will also be a third Restaurant and Bar built on the property in the near future.
The Chef will manage up to 6-7 kitchen staff to start in a small Container kitchen and will grow the lodge culinary facilities. The Inspiration behind the food is to very much use local and fresh ingredients and present it beautifully.
General Head Chef duties will apply. Previous experience within a Head Chef role is essential. The chef will manage staff, Source quality local ingredients, be responsible for Training, Oversee quality and portion control, food cost management, Guest engagement, and ultimately create a vibey, fun yet creative and effective culinary team.
The position is available from mid August 2021 for the opening in September 2021
ICA, Hurst, Prue Leith, Silwood or similar fine dining culinary qualification is ideal.
Must have held a Head Chef role previously within a high-end dining Lodge/boutique Hotel/Restaurant environment.
R25,000-R30,000 Gross per month
Accommodation is available if required, if the person does not already reside in the Garden Route area. Work/Leave cycles can either be 3 weeks on and 1 week off or 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off, or days can be taken intermittently weekly if the person has their own accommodation in the area.
