The Lodge Manager is responsible for managing the assigned departments to produce a
consistent, high quality guest experience, providing a courteous, professional, efficient, and
flexible service consistent with the property’s policies and procedures, to maximize guest
satisfaction. Work hand in hand with the Head of Departments to oversee the daily operations of the
Lodge. Meet with the General Manager as required and update on the Lodge’s operation. Be readily available to deal with all guest queries and complaints. Responding to complaints to be dealt with in a pleasant, constructive manner always, using the feedback as a learning experience and platform for constructive discussion. Ensure lodge property standards are upheld and maintained. Ensure the stock control, stock take, and requisition procedures are strictly followed according to par levels and company standards, ensuring accuracy. To ensure that the department operational budgets are strictly adhered to. To review monthly forecasts and schedule resources accordingly. Maintain discipline in the departments according to company standards, address deviations
according to disciplinary company standards. Ensure adherence and understanding to Fire, Hygiene and Health and Safety (OHS). The successful candidate should ideally be fully competent in three areas of business. Firstly, be very guest focused, able to easily engage with people from all countries and deal with difficult demands in an amicable and calm manner. The second area of importance is the leadership of a team of staff, ensuring a firm hand is maintained when needed but also finding that important balance of motivating a team to strive for consistent improvement & innovation. Lastly, ensuring you have a good grasp of the financial and operational requirements of the lodge itself. Budgets, maintenance, stock controls are all important here. Grade 12 and a Diploma in Hospitality Management.
Valid code 10 driver’s license. Sound experience in Hospitality-Private Game Lodge environment, and at least 5 years. Minimum experience in a similar position. Sound Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Administration and Financial Competence). Knowledge and experience of overall hospitality operations mainly in Housekeeping and Food and Beverages (HK & FB). Strong leadership and management skills with excellent Communication skills and very well spoken. Confident team Player with positive attitude, enthusiasm, and emotional control (People skills-tolerance, patience, and care.)
