Job Description

To continuously optimise last mile configurations and solutions for the company’s largest clients.
The role is responsible for ensuring that last mile solutions provided, balances the mix of network, dedicated fleet and ancillary offerings; to the best interest of the client, while ensuring that commercial mechanisms underpinning these solutions are well conceived, robust and implemented.

Evaluate client requirements, distribution footprint and volumes per route.

Continuously review and refine the company’s solution to the client.

Ensure the solution gives the client the benefit of their own density when they have enough to justify a dedicated vehicle/route.

Use fleet mix and route design modelling to give the clients the best mix of closed loop vs network mix.

Identify infrastructure and IT requirements on client and the company side to enable such a hybrid model.

Drive development and implementation projects.

Measure and share performance information with client.

Improve customer service experience.

Develop an understanding of client’s needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.

Collaborate with other departments, as necessary, to meet client requirements.

Develop process, procedures, policies and standards.

Determine client service operational strategies.

Develop and implement technical project management tools to manage the environment.

Report project plans, progress and results to Management and client personnel as required.

Determine client service requirements by maintaining contact with clients; reviewing operational environments; benchmarking best practices; analysing information and applications.

Develop personalised in-depth service models for client demographics.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in client service operations management.

Keep ahead of industry developments.

Protect and control proprietary and client sensitive materials and trade secrets.

Qualifications

Matric. B.Com Logistics or BEng Industrial

Skills

Client Solutions in a Supply Chain/ Logistics Environment. Transport Design/ Logistics Optimisation. Tactically focused - using advanced analytics to optimise transport mix while ensuring the commercial mechanisms underpinning the solution is robust. Knowledge of business and logistics principles involved in planning, resource allocation, and coordination of drivers and resources. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client solutions. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction. Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by different modes of transport.

Salary / Package

R1.2 mil - R1.3 mil per annum negotiable
