Our client is a Global logistics company, seeking Business Development managers in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and PE areas.

Job Description

You will be expected to perform the following Key Functions:

The objective is to grow the company revenue, profitability, and trading base through achieving set forwarding and clearing sales targets as defined by the business.

New Business Acquisition

  • Present and sell company products and services to potential clients
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and estimates
  • Establish and maintain strong client and potential client relationships
  • Develop external stakeholders and Agencies
  • Ensure that all services within the company’s portfolio is being Sold

 Profitability

  • Identify Additional complimentary Services that would increase profitability
  • Identify and propose Ancillary Services that the company could do to increase customer satisfaction

 Lead generation

  • Follow up on new leads and referrals
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
  • Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling and networking

Sales

  • Pipeline Management Weekly / Monthly

Process adherence

  • Call Reporting – CRM (Focus)
  • Fulfill and Prepare Weekly reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to agreed KPI’s – CRM (Focus)
  • Identify and resolve client concerns

 

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Logistics or similar degree/diploma/ (Freight Forwarding industry) preferable.

Skills

  • 3-5 years in the Freight Forwarding Sales / operational environment
  • Understanding of Freight Processes (All Modes)
  • Understanding of international trade and purchasing (Inco Terms)
  • Understanding of high-level Customs Processes pertaining to Clearing
  • Understanding of Clearing and Forwarding pricing and ability to analyze
  • Time Management
