Front of house is the first port of call for all our guests newly arrived, or when they arrive in the main/ public areas of the lodge.
To assist the front of house/ assistant lodge manager in the performance of their duties.
The check in/ check out of guests, including the facilitation of check in procedures and welcoming all new guests to the lodge.
Ensure arrival drinks and welcome towels are ready for guests arriving for the first time, or back from a game drive or any other activity.
To liaise with all departments to ensure information pertaining to guests needs, requirements, dietary restrictions, pre-booked activities, special occasions, and other relevant details are shared with all departments.
Prepare and countercheck guest folios and to prepare bills for check out, including the presentation of to the guests and the subsequent settling on the accounts through the relevant payment method.
Be the port of call for all guests at the lodge who will visit or contact reception during their stay, assist in their queries, concerns or requests and ensure the correct, relevant staff and department are informed to ensure the needs of the guests are met.
Friendly, confident communication and assistance in the curio shop area of the lodge and assist in other front office areas where required.
Prepare any daily, weekly, and monthly reports for reservation and billing activity.
Assist the FOH manager with correspondence to guests/ inquiries from guests/ special requests through the PMS system.
Respond to OTA bookings made and revert to guests based on information furnished.
Follow up on deposits and outstanding amounts due based on company policy and procedures relating to lodge reservations.
Scope within the position allows exposure to many facets of the lodge that can facilitate growth and career advancement should initiative be shown.
Monitor guest feedback and communicate issues to management for resolution.
Facilitate the booking of 3rd party activities/ transfers if required.
Report any issues or concerns for rectification to the lodge manager or manager on duty in the absence of the lodge manager.
Display excellent communication skills so all departments relied upon are informed on tasks and duties required.
Energetic, passionate, with a great eye for detail and ability to handle guests and fellow staff with honesty and integrity.
Hotel Management diploma
At least 3 years experience handling reception and reservation duties. Exceptionally guest focused.
