Job Description

  • Responsible for shafts, ventilation fans, compressors and surface infrastructure, all underground infrastructure (Mechanical & Electrical) as well as project execution in area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the planning and organising of resources to obtain production targets.
  • Plan and coordinate major shutdowns with internal and external clients to ensure the timeous allocation of resources.
  • Coordinate the design of new equipment and ensure integration with the application of existing technology and resources.
  • Responsible for risk evaluation and alleviation within design of systems, equipment, and products (Technical and Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ).
  • Responsible to perform fault-finding via drawings for effective equipment availability.
  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements and Mine Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice.
  • Ensure that all Engineering reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines, and schedules.

Qualifications

  • BSc/BEng/BTech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mining Engineering
  • GCC Mines & Works
  • ECSA registration would be beneficial
  • Member of South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM)
  • Permanent blasting certificate (DMRE/ MQA)
  • Management Development Programme required or equivalent.

Skills

  • Minimum 3 years' experience on shafts, winders or processing plants or currently appointed as 2.13.3.1 in these areas
  • Experience in Conventional mining
  • Valid drivers license

Salary / Package

R1,7m - R2,15m CTC per annum
