Inbound Tour Operator with offices in Durban and JHB

Job Description

To provide clients with excellent service by managing the booking process from receipt of enquiry, consulting and confirmation of booking.

Responsibilities :

Complete overall management of the entire process pertaining to the client’s enquiry from beginning to end.

Be a bush lodge expert by liaising with clients and offering suitable lodge/hotel options and/or alternative options based on their needs and interests.

Effectively managing client expectations pertaining to their experience.

Looking after all aspects of the booking process, ensuring the client has an excellent overall experience with the company.

Maintain a constant level of efficient communication with your clients throughout the entire booking process.

Follow reservations processes as required, thus ensuring understanding and implementation of internal reservations operating procedures.

Attention to details when sending quotes to clients as well as following internal reservations procedural requirements.

Manage and respond to Tour Financial Summary Reports as and when requested.

Attend product training on all lodges and hotels as requested.

Candidate to be based in either Durban or JHB – hybrid role.


Matric – 60% pass in Math’s Literacy. Diploma or Degree in Travel and Tourism.


At least six years’ experience in the travel industry, within an inbound tour operator environment as a consultant is essential. Tourplan an advantage. Client service-focused. Good geographic knowledge of Southern Africa . Good knowledge of bush lodges & Game Reserves throughout Southern Africa. Good people skills, and the ability to comfortably discuss options with clients. Someone who is target driven, and willing to go the extra mile for clients. Good understanding of travel terminology - room types and categories of hotel rooms and rates. Good organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple bookings at the same time Good attention to detail and accuracy. Commitment to handle administrative responsibilities efficiently and effectively. Team player with a positive attitude and the willingness to adapt to change, if and when required. Good computer literacy with working knowledge of MS Office Applications - Outlook, Office, Excel & Word. Very good interpersonal interactions skills, predominantly focusing on a high level of written and verbal communication skills. A good understanding of contracted rates and applying special discounted rates. Ability to work under pressure with high work volumes and quick turnaround.

Salary / Package

Negotiable depending on experience


Medical aid, provident fund, quarterly incentives and additional company benefits. Working hours Monday - Friday flexibility through hybrid model (after 6 month training and probation).
