Job Description
Your responsibilities will be the following:Â
Develop furniture concepts, product ranges and design solutions, with specific consideration to engineering, aesthetics, and sustainability.
Produce sketches, renderings, 3D CAD models, and technical drawings for product development and manufacturing.
Collaborate with the production, procurement and sales teams to ensure designs are efficiently manufacturable, cost-effective, and commercially viable.
Create and maintain accurate product documentation, including specifications, BOMs, assembly instructions, and revision records.
Participate in prototyping, testing, and product refinement processes.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source components and improve product quality and cost efficiencies.
Ensure products comply with ergonomic, safety, and any relevant international quality and durability standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, production efficiency, and cost reduction.
Contribute to product presentations, marketing visuals, and customer-facing design material where required.
Qualifications
Matric
Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design or related field.
Skills
3–5 years’ experience in industrial design within furniture manufacturing or a related industry.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Fusion, SolidWorks, or similar experience creating technical drawings and production documentation.
Good understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, hardware, and construction methods.
Salary/Package
R30,000 – R50,000 CTC PM
