Job Description

Your responsibilities will be the following:

  • Review and analyse client technical packs and project specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates for in-house shopfitting and fixture manufacturing.
  • Issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to subcontractors across all trades (e.g., flooring Tiling/Vinyl/Wood, painting, lighting, electrical, AC, ceilings, signage, shopfronts, media, Plumbing, Wet works, Partitioning, Graphics.)
  • Evaluate and compare subcontractor quotations, negotiating best possible pricing and terms
  • Compile and populate client BOQs and detailed quotes within required timeframes.
  • Track changes in client requirements and assess cost implications.
  • Liaise closely with internal project management, manufacturing, and installation teams to align costings with operational requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support to project managers during project execution regarding budgets, variations, and cost controls.
  • Maintain detailed costing records for transparency and audit purposes.
  • Prepare post-quote analysis to improve accuracy and competitiveness in future bids.
  • Accuracy and competitiveness of project estimates

 

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant estimating or quantity surveying qualifications will be advantageous.
Skills
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in estimating, quantity surveying, costing, or commercial management.
  • Extensive experience within shopfitting, retail fit-outs, construction, manufacturing, or turnkey project environments.
  • Proven experience preparing detailed BOQs, tenders, estimates, and quotations.
  • Strong understanding of project costing, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Experience working on multi-disciplinary retail or commercial projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting strict tender deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Commercially minded with strong business acumen.
  • Professional, ethical, and accountable.
