Our client is an established shopfitting and interior construction company operating within the Gauteng region. The company specialises in the delivery of fit‑out and shopfitting solutions, project management, manufacturing, logistics, installation, and complete retail fitouts
Job Description

You will:

  • Responsible for the Project Manager with planning, coordination, and execution of shopfitting and interior fit‑out projects.
  • Manage project programmes, ensuring timelines are tracked and updated regularly.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Monitor site progress and report on activities, risks, and delays.
  • Responsible for the procurement and tracking of materials to ensure timely delivery to site.
  • Support cost control by tracking variations, orders, and project expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards on site.
  • Attend site and client meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Responsible for snag lists, quality checks, and project close‑out documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and filing systems.
Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
•Project Management certification will be advantageous.
•Health & Safety knowledge and relevant construction industry certifications will be beneficial.

Skills

•Minimum of 10 years’ project management experience within the retail shopfitting, commercial construction, or turnkey fit-out industry.
•Proven experience managing multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
•Extensive knowledge of retail construction methodologies and specialist building services.
•Strong commercial understanding of project costing, procurement, contracts, and budgeting.
•Advanced project planning and scheduling skills.
•Strong commercial and financial management ability.
•Excellent contract administration knowledge.
•Thorough understanding of retail construction and shopfitting processes.
•Strong leadership and people management skills.
•Excellent client relationship management abilities.
•High level of negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
•Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
•Excellent organisational and time management skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
•Ability to interpret architectural, engineering, and manufacturing drawings.
