Employer Description
Our client is a contracting company specializing with industrial refrigeration.
Job Description
Repair and maintain industrial ammonia and freon refrigeration systems.
Service compressors, condensers, evaporators, vessels, pumps, oil systems, purges and associated plant equipment.
Perform full strip-down, inspection, precision measurement, rebuild and recommissioning of screw compressors reciprocating (piston) compressors.
Commission new and refurbished ammonia refrigeration plants.
Work on all major industrial compressor brands, including: Mycom, Grasso, Sabroe.
Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and control system faults.
Troubleshoot PLC control systems and instrumentation.
Interpret P&ID drawings and electrical schematics.
Conduct root cause analysis on plant failures and recurring breakdowns.
Conduct SANS 10147 audits and ensure plant compliance.
Adhere to OHS Act requirements and refrigeration safety standards
Qualifications
Trade Tested Refrigeration Mechanic
Skills
Minimum ten 10 years’ experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration.
Minimum ten 10 years’ proven hands-on experience overhauling screw and reciprocating compressors.
Proven experience working on Mycom, Grasso and Sabroe compressors.
Strong mechanical and diagnostic capability.
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Valid driver’s licence.
Willingness to work after-hours, standby, shutdowns and weekends when required.
Salary/Package
R45 000 – R60 000
