Job Description
You will:Â
Plan, supervise and coordinate all wet works activities on site, including foundations, brickwork, plastering, screeding, concrete works and related structural elements.
Manage and direct site labour and subcontractor gangs to ensure productivity targets and construction programme deadlines are met.
Read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings to ensure work is carried out to specification and to the correct levels, tolerances and finishes.
Conduct daily quality checks and snag inspections, ensuring workmanship meets company and consulting engineer standards before sign-off.
Enforce site Health & Safety requirements at all times, ensuring compliance with the OHS Act and site-specific safety file requirements.
Liaise daily with the Site Manager/Construction Director on progress, material requirements, delays and risks.
Manage material call-offs and ensure adequate stock of wet works materials to avoid delays.
Maintain accurate daily site records, including labour allocations, progress reports and site diaries.
Coordinate with other trades (steel fixing, formwork, plumbing, electrical) to maintain a clash-free, efficient sequence of works.
Mentor and manage junior foremen, chargehands and site labour.
Qualifications
 Any construction related qualification will be an advantage
Skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Wet Works Foreman, with at least 2 years at a senior/lead level.
Proven experience on high-density residential (Res 3) developments is essential.
Solid working knowledge of concrete, brickwork, plastering and screeding practices and tolerances.
Ability to read and work from construction drawings and specifications.
Strong understanding of site Health & Safety requirements (OHS Act).
Proven ability to manage and motivate large labour teams and subcontractor gangs.
Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence.
Trade-related qualification or relevant technical training advantageous.
Hands-on, disciplined and deadline driven.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
High attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
Good communicator, able to liaise confidently with site management and other trades.
Able to work under pressure on a fast-paced, high-density residential programme.
