The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will include the following:
Precision alignment of industrial pumps and their drivers
Ensuring optimum performance
Reliability and equipment longevity
Assembly, maintenance, overhaul, testing and installation of a range of industrial pumps.
Qualifications
Trade tested Fitter and Turner
Matric
Certified to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
Skills
Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in industrial pump assembly, repair, overhaul and precision pump alignment within a high-precision engineering environment
Proven experience aligning centrifugal, multistage, slurry and positive displacement pumps to electric motors, gearboxes and other driven equipment
Strong background in fitting and turning
Demonstrated proficiency in laser shaft alignment, dial indicator alignment and conventional alignment methods
Sound knowledge of rotating equipment, couplings, bearings, mechanical seals, shaft alignment tolerances and vibration prevention
Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
