The Machinist will operate CNC machine tools, such as lathes and milling machines, to cut and produce precision parts for machines, instruments, and tools.

You will also be responsible

• Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
• Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
• Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
• Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
• Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
• Confirm correctness and accuracy of parts dimensions upon manufacturing, either with manual measuring tools or with Computerized Measuring Machine (CMM)
• Perform the same operation with parts manufactured by third parties on behalf of the company
• Participate to the finishing of the parts, when manual intervention such as deburring, chamfering or polishing is required.
• Assist in preparing parts that require surface treatment during the manufacturing cycle, until completion
• Liaise and coordinate with Technical Office for any issues and/or discrepancy that may arise during the manufacturing of the part
• Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
• Maintain your workplace nice and tidy, as per Company’s Standard
• Excise maximum attention and care of Company’s Machine Tools, Measuring Tools and equipment to avoid unnecessary expenditure
