Our client is a consulting firm that specialises in EPCM projects for the mining industry.
Job Description
Develop detailed Electrical and Instrumentation drawings, including but not limited to:
Single line diagrams (SLDs) for MV and LV reticulations
MV/LV Switchgear General arrangement drawings
Schematic diagrams and termination drawings
Substation and Transformer bay Layout Design Drawings
Cable Racking and Routing Layout Drawings 2D (3D would be an advantage)
MV/LV Cable sizing and cable schedules
Earthing and Lightning Protection Designs and Drawings
Lighting Designs (Relux or similar)
Lighting and small power layouts
Network Diagrams
PLC Panel Layout and Card and termination Drawings
RIO Panel and I/O Schedules
Instrumentation Location Drawings
Instrument Power Panel layouts and general arrangements
Produce and update CAD drawings in accordance with project requirements and standards
Assist engineers with design development and material take-off documentation
Ensure drawing accuracy, quality, and compliance with relevant codes and standards
Maintain drawing registers and document control procedures
Perform site measurements and as-built updates where required
Qualifications
Relevant technical qualification (Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or similar)
Skills
5+ years’ experience as an E&I CAD Designer, within a consulting engineering environment in the mining industry (Site experience will be an advantage)
Proven experience working for EPCM Consultants on mining projects
Strong experience with AutoCAD (essential)
Experience with E&I design tools such as E-Plan will be an advantage
Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interpret and implement engineering mark-ups
Salary/Package
R40K – R60K per month
