Network Design: Plan and build physical and wireless network setups.
Equipment Setup: Install and configure routers, switches, and firewalls.
System Monitoring: Watch network performance using tracking tools to spot slowdowns.
Problem Solving: Diagnose and fix connection drops, hardware failures, and security gaps.
Security Management: Set up virtual private networks (VPNs) and data protection rules.
System Updates: Install firmware updates, patches, and routine system upgrades.
Documentation: Keep clear records of network maps, IP addresses, and system changes. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Qualifications
Degree or National Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Systems.
CCNP Enterprise or equivalent Juniper JNCIP
Perimeter security certification: Fortinet NSE 4 or 5, or Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE.
Skills
5+ years dedicated experience in mid to large scale enterprise networking or telecommunications environments.
Proven experience deploying and managing complex routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and WAN architectures (SD-WAN, MPLS).
Hands-on experience with high-end enterprise network infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper or Huawei).
